Living In St George Utah
St George Utah is located in southern Utah, approximately 8 miles north of the Arizona border. St George is an amazing place to live with a focus on the outdoors, and being one of the few cities in the state to offer a mild winter (usually snow-free) and comfortable summers. While St George may not offer any ski resorts, you can take an easy 45 minute drive to Brian Head and enjoy a day on the slopes! The drive to Brian Head (or Panquitch Lake) in the summer is also a treat, with a stop off at Cedar Breaks you can leave St George on a hot 100 degree day and step out and be welcomed by 75 degrees. St George Utah is the gateway to local National Parks such as Zion. Here, you can explore amazing natural wonders, take leisurely hikes, or discover trails that will push you to your limits. Snow Canyon State Park is located minutes away in nearby Ivins. While it is one of the smaller parks, you won’t find a shortage of things to do or see, it’s truly a majestic sight much like a mini-Grand Canyon.
St George Utah Golf Courses
St George Utah golf courses are a favorite among residents and visitors. The weather in St George is compatible with golfers with our wonderful year round temperature and 300+ days of sunshine; it’s no wonder why we are a top golf destination. St George offers many public as well as private courses and the views from all courses are fantastic. Golf course homes are a top pick for many home buyers, even those who don’t golf. Who wouldn't mind having their property in a golf community with views of open green space, not to mention all of the grass that you won’t have to maintain! Popular St George Utah golf courses include: Sunbrook Golf Course, Sun River Golf Course, Green Springs Golf Course, and the Coral Canyon Golf Course. Among the St George luxury homes and golf course, you'll enjoy Entrada and Ledges Golf Courses.
Moving to St George Utah
Another element that adds to the very long list of “great things about St George” is the fishing and lakes. We have several fishing ponds and reservoirs that allow shore fishing as well as fishing and pleasure boating. Quail Lake and Gunlock reservoir are among the most popular for fishing. Both lakes are smaller and stocked full of fish. Sand Hollow is a popular lake for boating, skiing, and other water sports. Of course you’ll find fishing there too! Sand Hollow is probably one of my favorites, offering an extreme red sand backdrop against the deep blue waters. “Sand toys” are also welcome. It’s one of the few places where you can take your dirt bike, quad or rhino out for the day, then when the temps get hot, ride up to the water and go for a swim and enjoy the rest of the afternoon lounging in the sun. Although it is not possible to find water front homes in St George, you can find property in close proximity to the lakes and reservoirs.
St George Utah View Homes
St George Utah views are spectacular. While not every home is a view lot, you won’t have to go far to capture the spectacular red mountain peaks. St George is considered “desert” but you’ll find an abundance of grass, trees, and views that will feel more like a resort destination. The town offers a small town feel with big city amenities. You’ll likely bump into your neighbor at the store and it’s difficult to go on a walk without being stopped a few times for some friendly conversation. We moved here in 2006 and we are so glad we did. It makes it easy for me to sell homes here when I am able to experience firsthand how truly enjoyable the area is.
