Utah Home Run 2 Grant
Consumer Information
The Utah Home Run Grant has been reestablished and called the “Home Run 2”. Home Run 2 will offer $4,000 grants as opposed to the first Home Run that offered $6,000. Currently, there are only 1950 grants available! These will go fast, so if you’ve been contemplating the purchase of a new home in St George Utah…now is the time.
What is a Home Run Grant?
A Utah Home Run 2 Grant is a mortgage assistance program that grants money to buyers who will purchase a new construction home, have a new construction home built, or purchase a partially constructed home. Unlike the first Home Run Grant, Home Run 2 stipulates the home does NOT need to be completed prior to purchase. The first Home Run grant stipulated that the home had to be completed prior to closing; Home Run 2 will offer a commitment that will expire June 30, 2010. This means you can purchase a home that is about to be built or early in the process and reserve the funds for when the home is completed.
St George New Construction Grant
This grant CAN be used in addition to the federally issued $8,000 first time buyer credit. However, you do NOT have to be a first time buyer to utilize the Home Run 2 Grant. Stipulations for the Home Run 2 grant are: Maximum income for single $75,000, married = $150,000 and the property must be a primary permanent residence. You do NOT have to obtain a loan to qualify for the Home Run 2 grant, but if you do plan to obtain a mortgage, it must be a fixed rate loan to qualify and you must use an approved lender. The qualifying home must be of new construction, never occupied.
